Some used to say that love is like a flower
It's watered = it grows. As simple as that.
Once upon a time, there was this guy who had once been told
that such thing was not true; that love was something blue
which only grew
in the heart of the foolest fools.
He roamed, he thought, he wandered around
and one day he decided to check it out.
He found himself a fine silly girl
and promised her the world
just to throw a seed into her lonely heart
and watch it grow.
She called, she begged, she crawled
and he didn't feel a thing.
Why!, he thought, Billy's the man!
Right and wrong are both dead
There's no cross and no sin...
And for 40 days she sobbed
for 40 days she said I love you
for 40 days that weak plant struggled to survive;
the girl cried, cried and didn't know
how to keep that poor creature alive.
Morning came - one day she woke up
and felt it had died.
So came a prince
carrying buckets and buckets
of the freshest water on Earth
he had been walking for miles and miles
when he saw a fine girl
lying on the ground, still, with the left hand in her heart.
He noticed the dead flower,
and taken by a 'plundering desire',
did not hesitate or think twice:
put it into a vase,
poured the water all over the place
just to see the girl smile.
She smiled indeed
thanked him very much
and knocked on that guy's door
with a vase on her feet.
He saw the freshly watered plant
felt the delicious smell
noticed the greener leaves
of the plant which triumphantly grew
thanks to another gentleman's help.
The guy didn't see what to say:
he just swallowed his pride,
took the girl inside
and started keeping an eye on the plant
every single day.
As for the prince,
he married three with one single kiss
but the water is gone
the evil is done
he has long ago given love away...
